After many teen years spent tanning in the sun, Kim believed she would be doomed to sun-aged skin (freckles, sunspots, and fine lines) in her 40’s. Now 47, she feels more confident than ever in her skin’s appearance and hardly ever wears full makeup in public, and she attributes this to Obagi.*
Kim will be happily married 20 years next August and has two children, a 17-year-old daughter and a 15-year-old son. She works full time as an outside sales representative selling dairy products and ice cream and loves her job. She also loves summer and is constantly out in the sun, either sitting at her son’s baseball games or doing something in the yard. The most important item that she always has on her is sunscreen, even in the winter months.
My Obagi Story:
I grew up as a MAJOR sun worshiper. I cared nothing about sunscreen, and I would lay out in the sun every day for many years with straight suntan oil on. I never dreamed of that future day that I could possibly get skin cancer from this. I also never thought that I would get wrinkles. I just always thought that a tan made me look good, and I didn’t care about the consequences.
The first time I came upon Obagi was when I went to an opening of a new salon/spa that was offering facials, and I obtained some Obagi products. I have used them every day ever since.† I love the entire Obagi line, and I am constantly telling others about it.
I believe that if it were not for this line of products, I would look about 15 years older than I really am. My sun damage had to be horrible. In my 30’s and 40’s, I had very oily skin, with discoloration and large pores. Now, my skin appears more even-toned. In addition, my pores are no longer noticeable.‡
People constantly ask me what kind of work I have had done on my face, because I’m 47 and my skin is beautiful. I never dreamed of the day that I would walk out of my house at my age with no makeup on, but I do it often, especially on weekends…and you know what? I don’t care who I run into! As I’m getting older, I tend to stay away from heavy makeup and choose just a tinted moisturizer and mascara. I have found that I have less to hide under makeup. I’m more confident now in my late 40’s than I was in my 20’s.
I truly believe that all of this confidence comes from using Obagi products. It really works and has helped diminish the appearance of sun damage on my face.§I would hate to see what my face would have looked like without this line of products.
* Repeated exposure of unprotected skin while in the sun or tanning may increase the risk of skin aging, skin cancer, and other harmful effects to the skin even if you do not burn. To decrease this risk, regularly use a sunscreen with a Broad Spectrum SPF value of 30 or higher and other sun protection measures including:
- limit time in the sun, especially from 10 a.m.—2 p.m.
- wear long-sleeve shirts, pants, hats, and sunglasses
† The safety and effectiveness of the Nu-Derm System beyond 24 weeks have not been established.
‡ Individual results may vary.
§ Using a broad spectrum sunscreen like Obagi® Sun Shield SPF 50 together with a comprehensive sun protection program, including wearing sun protective clothing and sunglasses and avoiding the sun between the hours of 10 am-2 pm, may help reduce the risk of premature skin aging.
Important Safety Information for Obagi Nu-Derm Clear and Blender®
